We are currently looking for new Trustees to join our Management Committee as several Trustees stand down at our AGM in September. If you feel that you could offer some time and commitment to the charity we would love to hear from you. We are particularly keen to attract individuals with marketing or fundraising knowledge. Our existing Trustees have experience in areas such as the legal profession, accounting, local government and banking. A diverse board make better decisions. We would love to attract some younger trustees and show diversity.
A recent survey of 1,600 current trustees asked why people took up the post and the top reason was to ‘give something back’ (55%), second to gain new skills and improve professional development (33%), and third because they were committed to a charity’s cause (30%).
You are welcome to have an informal chat with either staff or an existing trustee or chairman to explore the possibility of joining us. There is an opportunity to see the trustees in action at a Trustee Meeting in October or our AGM on 25th September, in Littlehampton.
The charity will offer trustee induction and provides Indemnity Insurance.
