Neighbour Violence

Yet another story has hit the news pages where a neighbourly dispute has lead to violence. Yesterday the Mirror Online feature the story of a drunken male stabbing his neighbour in the chest, using an 8″ knife, after what was described as a petty, long term feud over wheelie bins. The incident occurred last November and came before Teesside Crown Court last Friday. The offender was sentenced to five year imprisonment.

Hopefully, through our work in the community, we can do our bit to help prevent the escalation of neighbour disputes to more serious situations. We do like to be used as an early intervention tool. We have a large number of dedicated volunteers who are suitably trained in conflict resolution, who are keen to help those in disputes find lasting resolutions to their issues.
