We are about to notify dates (Oct/Nov) for a training course for new Community Mediators and are looking for keen volunteers to sign up for it. There will be room for 12 candidates. For the first time we will be holding this course virtually, via Zoom, with further practice face to face when the pandemic allow. Your first cases are likely to be conducted online, because of Covid-19 and you will eventually move to facilitating face to face home visits and hosting joint meetings at neutral venues The fully accredited training course totals 40 hours and will equip candidates to mediate our ‘bread and butter’ work, which is resolving neighbour disputes.
If you are a good listener, communicator and can remain neutral, impartial and non judgemental then do get in touch for more details. You will need to live in West Sussex so that we can utilise you locally, when the pandemic has passed.
Training is provided for free in return for a volunteering commitment of at least two years. You will be joining a fantastic bunch of existing mediators, many of whom have been with us for many years, as they find the work hugely rewarding. Our mediators always work in pairs.
